The Washington State Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides confidential, no-cost services to support employees' well-being. This session introduces employees to the range of services available, including counseling, coaching, legal and financial consultations, and work-life balance resources. Attendees will learn how to access EAP services, schedule appointments, and take advantage of workplace well-being programs designed to help them navigate challenges both at work and in their personal lives.

Cultivating Awe and Wonder

In the midst of busy schedules and constant demands, it’s easy to move through life on autopilot—overlooking moments that could bring meaning, perspective, and even relief. Research shows that experiences of awe can reduce stress, improve mood, and help us feel more connected to the world around us.

This experiential series invites participants to slow down, reconnect with curiosity, and rediscover a sense of wonder in everyday life. Through guided practices, reflection, and simple mindset shifts, attendees will learn how to access awe intentionally, even during ordinary moments. Each session offers practical tools to support emotional well-being, expand perspective, and create small but meaningful shifts in how we experience the world.

Week 1: Awe Walks: Expanding Perspective in Daily Life

What if a simple walk could shift your mood, reduce stress, and help you feel more connected to the world around you?

In this session, you will explore the concept of “awe walks”, intentional walks designed to spark curiosity and presence. Through guided prompts and real-world examples, attendees will learn how to move beyond routine movement and into mindful observation. This session includes a brief guided exercise and practical strategies for incorporating awe walks into daily life, even during short breaks.

Week 2: Curiosity as a Stress Reset

When stress rises, our thinking often narrows. Curiosity helps open it back up.

This session introduces curiosity as a powerful tool for interrupting stress patterns and shifting from reactivity to exploration. Participants will learn how to ask better questions, reframe challenging moments, and approach uncertainty with a more flexible mindset. Through interactive reflection and simple practices, this session provides a practical “reset button” that can be used in real time.

Week 3: Nature Connection for Well-being

You don’t need a forest or a full day off to benefit from nature—small moments count.

In this session, you will explore accessible ways to reconnect with the natural world, even in busy or urban environments. From micro-moments outdoors to sensory awareness practices, attendees will learn how nature can support regulation, reduce overwhelm, and improve overall well-being. This session includes simple, realistic strategies that can be integrated into daily routines.

Week 4: Reframing the Ordinary into the Extraordinary

Awe isn’t just found in big, life-changing moments; it’s often hidden in the everyday.

This session focuses on shifting perception and building the habit of noticing what we typically overlook. Participants will explore how gratitude, attention, and intentional reflection can transform ordinary experiences into meaningful ones. Through guided prompts and practical examples, this session helps attendees create more moments of joy, appreciation, and perspective in their daily lives.
