EAP orientations

Upcoming employee orientations

The Washington State Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides confidential, no-cost services to support employees' well-being. This session introduces employees to the range of services available, including counseling, coaching, legal and financial consultations, and work-life balance resources. Attendees will learn how to access EAP services, schedule appointments, and take advantage of workplace well-being programs designed to help them navigate challenges both at work and in their personal lives.

Upcoming leadership orientations

Supervisors play a crucial role in fostering workplace well-being and guiding employees to available support services. This session provides an overview of how supervisors can utilize EAP services, including consultations on employee performance concerns, workplace conflict resolution, and stress management resources. Learn when and how to refer employees, what services are available, and how the EAP can serve as a valuable leadership tool to improve workplace culture and retention. This is ideal for HR professionals, wellness coordinators, and leadership teams who want a deeper understanding of how to maximize EAP services for their workforce.

Wellness Wednesdays

Connection fuels resilience, well-being, and a sense of belonging. This four-part series explores the science behind human connection and builds practical skills in belonging, empathy, active listening, and community-mindedness. Participants will learn simple, actionable ways to strengthen relationships, reduce isolation, and create more connected experiences at work and in everyday life.

Feb. 4: Belonging at Work and Beyond Belonging

This is a fundamental human need that shapes our well-being, motivation, and engagement. This session explores the science of belonging and what helps people feel seen, valued, and included. Participants will leave with practical strategies for fostering inclusive, welcoming spaces in both professional and personal settings.

Feb. 11: Everyday Empathy in Action Empathy

This doesn't have to be complicated to be powerful. This session focuses on perspective-taking, compassionate communication, and small daily practices that strengthen relationships. Participants will learn how to respond with empathy in real-world situations while still honoring their own boundaries.

Active Listening as a Superpower Feeling

This skill builds trust, safety, and connection. This session explores what active listening really looks like and why it matters. Participants will practice simple listening tools that reduce misunderstandings, deepen understanding, and improve communication at work and beyond.

Feb. 25: Ubuntu: "I Am Because We Are"

Ubuntu is an African philosophy centered on our shared humanity and interdependence. This session explores how cultural wisdom and modern research both highlight the importance of community and collective well-being. Participants will reflect on how connection, mutual care, and shared responsibility support individual and organizational resilience.
