If you’re experiencing relationship issues with another adult in your household, you can talk to a counselor together to find a solution.
What relationship counseling covers
Relationship counseling covers family relationships and romantic relationships between two or more adults within your household.
This service includes up to three free short-term counseling sessions. Typical concerns include:
- Brief premarital counseling
- Relationship issues
- Work-life balance issues
- Conflict resolution skills
- Communications skills
- Parenting skills
If you need long-term relationship counseling, we will help you find a therapist in your local community. Many practitioners adjust their fees based on your income and, in some cases, might be able to bill your insurance company.
Your counseling sessions are confidential. We will not share your concerns with anyone except when required by law.
Eligibility
You are eligible for this service if you’re:
- An employee of an Executive Cabinet agency
- An employee of a contracted public organization
- A household adult family member of an eligible employee
Note: We do not provide counseling to anyone under 18 years old.
Not all public employers are enrolled with us. Contact your human resources to see if you’re eligible for Washington State EAP services.
